Unreal, just an amazing event to be a part of. We started the night off by getting to the park and ride around 4pm for an 830pm start. When we pulled in we noticed a few scatterings of American flags and a few more English flags so we just pulled all the way to the edge of the fence where we figured it would be easier to find the car on the way back. A few minutes after we heard a car pull in blaring Soldier Boy and headed over to check it out, this was the start to a great night. Tailgating highlights include hyphy dance party to E-40 with our new Bay Area friends, shotgunning, Seth's rum chug dance off, pictures with lots of foreigners to show their friends, and an American football game just to rile up the brits.
After a few hours we decided it was time to take the bus to the game, after a short 10 min trip we had arrived at the Great Bufakeng stadium. The tribe that owns the area has the rights to one of the largest platinum mines in the world so you can imagine that the stadium is pretty decent. We decided to hang outside the stadium and mingle with the masses, the highlight being getting interviewed by Al-Jazeera, hopefully we aren't the face of the new Jihad.
Despite our seats not being together, nobody really stuck to that plan in the stadium and we ended up together in a decent section in the upper deck. Hopefully most of you saw the game so I don't need to recap anything but just need to put in that Seth tried to roll at the 60th minute, weaksauce. We're all pretty stoked on the draw with England, hopefully the next two games go smoothly so we have a good chance of making it out of our group as number 1. We all made it back safe so nothing really else to tell for now other than always remember the rendezvous point when attending large events...
Just got to the Kruger today so we'll post up some more pictures in a few days. Funny thing about this country is that despite overwhelming poverty and political instability, they have amazing cellular coverage, Seth has full reception on his Blackberry and on our cellular modem, go figure.
